This all came about as a result of improvement cycles this year since we have had some incredible data for our early literacy grade levels. Tiffin Elementary has been forging the path with this work. Their first grade teachers will help support teachers from other buildings in learning more. Instructional coaches will also support this work and will be available to help answer questions.

SIOP Implementation: Participants will review instructional and assessment accommodations that support English Learners that we discussed in SIOP. The majority of the time will be spent to work either alone or with grade level teams to dive into instructional units, adding accommodations, leveled graphic organizers, supplemental texts, leveled readings, accommodated assessments, and other supports for different language and ability levels. While the work is intended to focus on supporting English Learners, it will benefit all students who have unique learning needs.

SIOP Implementation: Participants will review instructional and assessment accommodations that support English Learners that we discussed in SIOP. The majority of the time will be spent to work either alone or with grade level teams to dive into instructional units, adding accommodations, leveled graphic organizers, supplemental texts, leveled readings, accommodated assessments, and other supports for different language and ability levels. While the work is intended to focus on supporting English Learners, it will benefit all students who have unique learning needs.
