This session seeks to build a foundation of understanding of student behavior and self-regulation, as well as provide teachers with a continuum of strategies to use when unexpected behavior occurs. Participants will be encouraged to be mindful of student need and function of behavior when choosing the most appropriate strategy. Teachers will learn how to support student regulation, foster problem-solving skills, and cultivate supportive relationships to create a positive learning environment.

Learn evidence-based strategies to boost student engagement, including optimizing the classroom environment, active supervision techniques, and providing multiple opportunities for student responses. We’ll also explore how these practices align with trauma-informed approaches to enhance learning outcomes.
