This session will focus on two of the most effective foundational strategies for creating positive classroom environments. In this session, middle school and high school staff will gain insights into how the practices of having clear expectations and providing effective feedback can foster consistency, reduce stress, and enhance students' engagement. These practices align with trauma-informed approaches, supporting students’ SEBH needs while also improving overall classroom culture.

Learning will center around creating well-designed teaching matrices that allow for consistency and predictability, as well as practical strategies for teaching and reinforcing appropriate behavior. An understanding of how these practices are connected with trauma-informed strategies will also be included.
